Jura E6 Overview

The Jura E6 is what I would call the minimalist model of the Jura E8. This espresso machine is for someone who doesn’t need a bunch of fancy specialty drinks and a lot of programmability. It has superb brewing quality just like the Jura E8. This means it’s ideal for an espresso purist or someone who just needs their basic milk-based beverages. It’s also budget friendly which gives this machine another upside in comparison to the Jura E8.

Jura E6 Pros

More affordable than the Jura E8: The Jura E6 may not be the most budget friendly espresso machine on the market but it’s less expensive than the Jura E8. This will save you money or you can use that extra bit of money to purchase a Jura milk cooler.

Has a quiet grinder: The Jura E6 uses the same Aroma G3 grinder as the Jura E8 but does not have an additional grinder to pre-grind coffee. This is probably the reason why it’s quieter than the Jura E8.

Uses less coffee beans: The Jura E6 uses fewer coffee beans per espresso shot compared to the Jura E8 which definitely helps minimizing wastage.

Has the same brewing quality as Jura E8: Both the Jura E6 and Jura E8 have exceptional brewing quality with the Pulse Extraction Process technology and Aroma+ grinder.

Jura E6 Cons

Only uses whole beans: Unfortunately, you cannot use pre-ground coffee with the Jura E6 which is a downside in case someone gets pre-ground coffee as a gift.

Only brews up to 7 specialty drinks: This may not be bad for everyone but if you love trying unique milk-based beverages, you’ll need to upgrade to the Jura E8.

Jura E8 Overview

The Jura E8 is Jura’s most popular machine and there’s a reason for that. With its consistent brewing quality, robust design, and advanced features, there’s no reason not to get this machine unless you’re worried about the price. This machine has the highest level of programmability and has a large variety of beverages to choose from. This is why this machine is ideal for someone who wants the most out of an espresso machine.

Jura E8 Pros

Brews up to 17 specialty drinks: If you’re wanting to try a range of milk-based beverages then the Jura E8 is a great choice. The Jura E6 is only capable of brewing your basic coffee beverages.

Has a fully automatic milk frother: The Jura E8 can brew milk-based beverages with no additional manual steps like the Jura E6 which makes this machine truly automatic.

Uses both whole bean and pre-ground coffee: The Jura E8 has an integrated bypass that will allow you to use pre-ground coffee. This is also convenient if your AromaG3 grinder is giving you any trouble.

More programmable than the Jura E6: The Jura E8 has more levels of programmability in terms of milk and brewing settings. This means better personalization for how you want your coffee to taste.

Jura E8 Cons

Grinder can be noisy: The Jura E8 has an additional grinder when pre-grinding coffee beans which is why this espresso machine is louder than the Jura E6.

More complicated to use: Due to the Jura E8 having more customizability and a higher level of programmability, it’s going to take longer to learn how to operate this machine.
