Here is our review of Sage Nespresso Creatista coffee machines.
The Sage Nespresso Creatista line is one of Nespresso’s innovative and exciting premium-end coffee machines.
In this review, I will discuss the three Nespresso Creatista machines: the Creatista Uno, Creatista Plus, and Creatista Pro. Each of these machines has its unique features, pros, and cons which are best suited for each individual.
So, let’s get started:
About The Sage Nespresso Creatista Line
Sage Nespresso Creatista coffee machines are currently Nespresso’s only “semi-automatic” models. This is why this line is so unique but popular. They have similar functionality to the Nespresso Lattissima line. The difference is that the Creatista has a milk pitcher and steamer instead of Nespresso’s usual automatic milk frother. This means that you’ll have to manually pour your own milk which is actually better for crafting café-like beverages.
Who Are Sage Nespresso Creatista Coffee Machines For?
Sage Nespresso Creatista coffee machines are for people who want a premium semi-automatic Nespresso machine. They are also much more affordable compared to semi-automatic espresso machines like De’Longhi. It’s also a great machine to consider if you love Nespresso machines but want to customize your beverages more by creating your own latte art.

The Sage Nespresso Creatista Uno is the entry-level product in the Creatista line. This means that it’s the cheapest out of the three but still does an excellent job at brewing beverages:
The build quality of the Nespresso Creatista Uno is okay when comparing it to the other Creatista models. It is made of plastic while the other models are made of high quality stainless steel. In terms of colors, the Nespresso Creatista Uno comes only in a black color. In terms of capacity, the Nespresso Creatista Uno can hold up to 12 capsules at a time.
The Nespresso Creatista Uno is an impressive machine that is able to use 19 bars of pressure to brew a shot of espresso. In terms of brewing sizes, the Nespresso Creatista Uno can brew a Ristretto (0.85 Oz), Espresso (1.35 Oz), or a Lungo (3.72 Oz). However, if you would like to tweak the brewing sizes this machine will allow you to reprogramme all 3 sizes.
In terms of milk control, the Nespresso Creatista Uno has a bit more functionality. You can adjust the milk temperature (low, medium-high), and also choose up to 3 different frothing amounts. Make sure to experiment with the temperature and frothing amounts in order to perfect your lattes and cappuccinos.
Ease of Use
The Nespresso Creatista Uno does not come with a digital display but has 6 buttons that are used to control all of its functionality. It is fairly simple to use and some people say they prefer the buttons over a knob on the Creatista Plus.
Who Is The Nespresso Creatista Uno For?
Although the Nespresso Creatista Uno is an entry-level model in the Creatista line, it’s still a premium Nespresso machine. It brews great espresso quality and is perfect for someone who wants a simple yet premium Nespresso machine. If you’re on a budget or don’t mind the lack of a digital display then I think the Nespresso Creatista Uno will suit you well.
The Sage Nespresso Creatista Plus is the most popular espresso machine out of the three. This machine may look identical to the Creatista Pro but there are a few key differences:
The Nespresso Creatista Plus has a sleek design with its high quality stainless steel finish. The machine is small and compact just like the Nespresso Creatista Uno but only comes in a silver stainless steel color. Another difference in terms of capacity between the Creatista Uno and Creatista Plus is that it has a capsule capacity of 16 instead of 12.
The Nespresso Creatista Plus has some impressive features that give it a reason to buy over the Creatista Uno. Just like the Nespresso Creatista Uno being able to brew an espresso, ristretto, and lungo, the Creatista Plus can also make lattes, cappuccinos, flat whites, and latte macchiatos.
In terms of milk control, the Nespresso Creatista Plus has up to 11 milk temperature settings and can choose from 8 milk texture settings. And in terms of brewing sizes, the Creatista Plus has up to 5 adjustable brewing sizes.
Ease of Use
The Nespresso Creatista Plus comes with a digital display that makes it easier to navigate through specialty drinks. In terms of ease of use, it is fairly simple to operate with its knob and button. These controls are used to also program brewing styles, steaming control, and milk control.
Who Is The Nespresso Creatista Plus For?
The Nespresso Creatista Plus is a beautifully designed machine with its stainless steel body panel build. It is a complete upgrade to the Nespresso Creatista Uno in all aspects which is great if you’re wanting something more. So if you’re someone who wants to experience the range of specialty drinks that this espresso machine offers then this one’s for you.
The Nespresso Creatista Pro is the top-of-the-line espresso machine out of the 3. Although it may look very similar to the Creatista Plus, there are actually a few key differences:
The Nespresso Creatista Pro is sleek like the Creatista Plus but has brushed stainless steel rather than stainless steel body panels. It also only comes in a silver color like the Creatista Plus. In terms of capacity, the Creatista Pro can hold up to 68 ounces of water and 18 capsules while the Creatista Plus only holds 51 ounces and 16 capsules.
The Nespresso Creatista Pro is an upgrade to the Creatista Plus which means there are a few key functions that make the Pro better than the Plus. The biggest difference between the Creatista Pro and Creatista Plus is that you are able to save customized beverages with the Pro.
The Nespresso Creatista Pro also uses a Thermo Jet System which will brew coffee and froth milk simultaneously which makes it much quicker and more efficient to brew espresso or other specialty drinks.
In terms of milk frothing, the Creatista Pro uses its advanced microfoam technology to produce the best milk quality out of the Creatista line. It has the same amount of milk texture and milk temperature settings as the Creatista Plus but has up to 7 brewing sizes.
Ease of Use
The Creatista Pro has a full digital touchscreen display which means you do not need to control the machine with buttons anymore. This feature will make it easier for most people to program and customize specialty drinks. You can also rename customized drinks which will make it easier to navigate the next time you brew a coffee.
Who Is The Nespresso Creatista Pro For?
The Nespresso Creatista Pro is arguably the most premium Nespresso machine you can buy. It is the only Nespresso machine to have a touchscreen control panel and has an endless amount of programmability. So if you want the best of the best out of a Nespresso machine and want to perfect your latte art making then the Nespresso Creatista Pro is going to be ideal for you.

Nespresso Creatista Line: Cleaning and Maintenance
In terms of cleaning and maintenance, all of the Nespresso Creatista models have a descaling alert when it’s time to descale the machine. These machines automatically spray the remaining milk out of the steam wand to prevent any unwanted milk residue. If the steam wand ever had to get clogged up, the Nespresso Creatista machines come with an unblocking tool to dismantle and manually clean the steam wand. When cleaning the machine daily, all you need to do is wipe the exteriors of the machine and make sure to empty the drip tray after use.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Nespresso Creatista make regular coffee?
There is no preset specialty drink that will make a full cup of black coffee so the closest you’ll get to a coffee is by brewing a lungo. However, all of the Nespresso Creatista machines are programmable which means you can adjust one of the preset drinks to the brewing size that you want.
What pods can you use with the Nespresso Creatista?
You can use the same type of espresso pods as the rest of the Nespresso espresso machines, however, you cannot use the vertuo pods.
Is the Nespresso Creatista worth it?
Sage Nespresso Creatista coffee machines are one of the best Nespresso machines you are going to buy. Personally, I prefer this line over the Lattissima line because you can create your own latte art. Automatic milk frothers on espresso machines such as Nespresso Lattissima models don’t tend to mix the coffee well with the milk.
All 3 Nespresso Creatista models are excellent Nespresso machines to choose from. Although the Creatista Pro is the best of the best in most aspects, it may not be the best for you. The Nespresso Creatista Uno may be better suited for you as it is minimalistic and maybe all that you need.
So make sure to go through each product review and comparison table to see which Nespresso Creatista coffee machine is best for you.
